The Huntington Library & Botanical Gardens are located in San Marino, California. The property was purchased in 1903 by Henry E. Huntington. At that time the property was 600 acres, but today covers 207 acres, 120 of which are landscaped and open to visitors. There are more than 14,000 different varieties of plants. My first photo is of a Bonsai Tree, which I photographed in the Japanese Gardens. My second photo was taken while walking through the Bamboo Forest.
The San Marino Motor Classic Car Show is held annually at Lacy Park in San Marino. Its three beneficiary charities are the Pasadena Humane Society, the San Marino Rotary Foundation and the Petersen Automotive Museum. There were over 200 cars on the lawn this year.
The White Barn in Park City is also known as the McPolin Farm. In 1908 the McPolins erected this barn of recycled timber salvaged from an old mill. The barn is 7468 square feet. The barn was built by fitting timbers together without the use of nails. Present day, there is a hiking/biking/skiing trail located at the upper edge of the property.
These photos are my first attempt at Street Photography. These photos were taken at Hollywood and Highland in Hollywood. I was standing in front of the Grauman's Chinese Theatre when this guy got down on the sidewalk and started doing pushups. A bus passed in the street behind him.
I love the lighting on this lady who sat for a moment to read.
Three ladies were sitting on a bench at the Hollywood & Highland Mall, and when I started taking photos, three other ladies ran to join in the photo.
Santa came to MEND for their annual Christmas Basket and Toy Distribution Days. He flew into Whiteman Airport in Pacoima in an R44 helicopter where he was transported from the airport to MEND in a vintage red convertible Cadillac. This Christmas season MEND provided complete fixings for Christmas dinner, warm blankets, and toys for each child to over 2,000 needy families.
I was fortunate to be able to photograph this beautiful, sweet Border Collie on a ranch in Mackay, Idaho. The Border Collie is a herding dog breed developed in the Anglo-Scottish border region for herding livestock. This breed is an intelligent breed. Sassy in not only intelligent but also a sweet, loving and beautiful dog. Here are four photos from the ranch.
In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month, I am posting an image with something pink in it. I took this photo at a ranch in the hills above Temecula, California, at the Sweetlight Collective Workshop. Twice a year Skye Hardwick Edmonds puts on an incredibly educational children's photography workshop. I was very fortunate to be able to attend the workshop.
The Hart Prairie Preserve was donated to The Nature Conservancy in 1994 by the Wilson family when they discovered that their property was the home of the rare Bebb willow trees. This 245-acre preserve has a historic lodge and charming guest cabins. These are just a few of the rugged historic cabins on the Hart Prairie Preserve.
This photo of fall aspens was taken in the early morning hours at Lockett Meadow; catching the sun's first moments of the day, combined with no wind, made for a perfect condition for a reflection photo.
